I've been rewatching all of the TMNT shows with my 4 year old daughter who is obsessed with all things turtles. I grew up with the 80's/90's show and it was my favorite until I watched the 2013 show all the way through. It's my daughter's favorite as well. She calls the current show Big Ralph show because the turtles are all different sizes. It's very different from the other shows in a lot of ways, and this has caused some division in the fan base. I find it alright at best, but she likes it. The show was only on for 2 seasons so I was surprised we were getting a movie. It turns out to be really good.
The plot is somewhat cliche as it has to do with time travel. I feel time travel episodes/stories in shows like this are lazy writing, but they've dealt with it on other Turtles shows. It's not a bad story and kept us engaged until the end. It's a dark movie, but I like that about it. What I really appreciated was that we got a new version of a classic villain. The show hardly had any.
Like any movie of an animated show, the production values have gone up. The animation and colors are great. The voice work is top notch.
Overall it's a pretty decent movie that has made me appreciate this version of the turtles a little more. It would be nice if the show could continue to wrap up whatever story they want to tell. Or if this movie is the end it's a good way to go out.

The original Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show was review bombed for its unique approach to the Turtles and sadly the same thing is happening with its movie counterpart. Give this movie a shot! The characters are really likable and the animation is beyond spectacular, trust me im not exaggerating.
Guys TMNT is a 38 year old franchise with 6 films and the 7th one having the title "rise" didnt give me much hope BUT netflix fkin nailed it man ... I aint gonna give any spoilers but just know this ... The movie NEEDS to be watched in the hdest of prints and biggest of screens (hopefully the theatres) cuz thats how amazing the movie is.
Plot wise it aint a masterpiece but where it really shines is the animation ... I am talking DBZ level fight scenes where the impact of hit is FELT and such amazing character design turned me into instant fan.
Also negative reviews are unfortunately due to color change of April the female character -.- Dont let em bother you ^^

I'll try my whole best to sum up my opinion and feelings.
This movie feels like eating a candy/snack you loved as a kid. It's very sugary, maybe not the best, but it gives you so many good memories and overall it's enjoyable and satisfactory. This is how I feel about the movie.
I was a fan of the 2012 version as a child and now that I'm a little more grown up I'm loving this Rise serie and waited for this movie with hype. I was not disappointed in the slightest.
I loved the character (Donnie and Mikey best turtles) and their fond family bond, and I loved the voice acting and the plot was enjoyable and engaging. The animation was absolutely stunning and I loved it both in this movie and the serie.
Overall I felt like I was in the cinema theatre with my mom. I felt like I was eight again and that made the whole movie even more enjoyable I truly hope from the bottom of my heart that there is a change for a third season because I was heartbroken when I found out i the show was being cancelled. PLEASE if you can watch it on Netflix, leave a good review. I want to see more of this version of the turtles!!!

This movie is incredible. It has everything people loved about the show - the beautiful animation, the epic fight scenes, the family dynamics - dialed up to 11. This show NEEDS a season 3, there's still so much potential!
