I'll be honest, I had pretty low expectations for this remake of The Running Man. The original movie is iconic, after all!
But guess what? This remake is really entertaining! The action moves along fast and there's plenty of it. They have managed to retain the witty nature of the dialogue, much like the original movie. Glenn Powell plays the lead really well. James Brolin is a suitably oily baddie. Coleman Domingo almost steals the movie as the show presenter. And Lee Pace is barely recognisable as the main chaser. Bonus with Tom Jones' version of "Keep On Running" in the end credits!

Those of us who are of a certain age will well remember what secondary school was like in the 1970s!
A complete anathema to today's sanitised and politically correct school! But we all survived and it toughened us up for what was to come when we had to go an earn a living.
I don't recall seeing the lead actor, Mike Bubbins, in any shows previously, but he captures 1970 PE teacher rather well!

This is one of those shows where some might give up after the first episode because it's a bit of a slow burn in the first episode. However, stick with it and, by episode 3 or 4, it suddenly turns into binge-watch material!
It's a storyline full of twists. Sometimes, maybe too many., but they all resolve by the end. The cast is generally very good. However, it is Michael Pena who absolutely steals the show. His performance, as the lead detective is outstanding.
Well worth watching.
