I've been looking forward to this movie coming out for a month and was beginning to worry I was hyping it up and would be disappointed once I finally got to see it.
Nope. Not even remotely disappointed.
Neeson was an excellent choice for the role of Frank Jr. Pamela Anderson played a fantastic ingenue and the chemistry between them was palpable. Their comedic timing was excellent and entertaining.
The movie didn't have as many background and "accidental" sight gags as the originals, but there were enough I feel as though I should watch it three or four more times because I feel as though I missed some in the first watching.
With streaming being the "go to" for so many new movies now, I was glad to have the option to see it in the theater.
I saw it at the early showing on Thursday so there weren't a lot of people in the theater to begin with, but it was us older viewers who stuck it out to the end of rhe credits, and I'm glad I did.
I sincerely hope Neeson and Anderson give us some more of these, with Seth McFarlane at the helm.

A couple months ago, I discovered this show on BritBox and I'm completely addicted!
Lee Mack and David Mitchell are two of the funniest comedians I've had the pleasure of watching and Rob Brydon's play between the two of them is excellent!
The jokes never go too far, you can tell David and Lee really like each other, the way they so readily laugh at each other's jokes, and how the three regulars draw out the comedic side of the guests is fantastic.
My only thing that upsets me is all the seasons aren't available on Britbox so I'll have to go looking for them, hopefully on YouTube.
I just can't stop watching this show and I highly recommend it for anyone to watch with their older kids (not because the humor is raunchy, but because younger kids really might not get the humor simply because the jokes are smart and intelligent.)

What drew me was the suggestion of ghosts. What kept me watching was the beautiful children's story. What thrilled me was seeing so many beloved and talented British actors, seen in other films from the UK.
I'm not someone who feels the need to pick apart every subtle nuance of a movie. I watch simply for enjoyment and this film delivers.
Anything with Maggie Smith in it is sure to entertain. The wonderful acting of both Hugh Bonneville (Notting Hill) and Timothy Spall (of Hary Potter fame) was so wonderful to see as I've loved them both in anything they've done in the past.
The primary story is so imaginative and captivating, to be sure. Since I was a child I've loved fantasy stories like this and this particular tale didn't disappoint.
Though the story is a bit formulaic, it doesn't take away from the wonder to be found in the tale itself.
From the evil "step" mother (though she's really their mother), to the kindly and loving Father, to the dastardly and cruel brother, to the easily loved blind daughter, all the elements are there for an hour and a half escape from the world as we know it.
This is a perfectly wonderful movie to sit and watch with the kids, over and over again, and I can't believe it took me so long to find this movie.
