  • Good, but what's with the daughter and ex-wife? And who hires a 24 year-old lawyer?

Billy Bob is perfect here and the story line is very interesting. I particularly like the role of his son, played by Jacob Lofland. It's a little hard to believe Billy Bob doesn't protect him more knowing what's out there, but the drama is riveting.

All that said, what on earth could anyone have been thinking with the characters of the daughter and ex-wife? It's a 360 degree turn from a very interesting series to how creepily weird it becomes in every single scene either one of them is in.

His daughter is seventeen? Sure, every seventeen year-old girl has the sexual experience this kid does. When did this junior in high school start having sex, the 7th grade? A definite PEDO vibe. How did this get written?

The bizarre continues with the character of Rebecca Falcone, a TWENTY-FOUR year-old lawyer, otherwise known as fresh out of law school. Sure Becca, you'd be everyone's representational choice in the brutal, gang-fueled world of Cartel vs/ Big Oil. Must be your pretty face. Maybe you can go one-on-one with the savage cartel guy. How ridiculous.

But who doesn't want more cringe? Becky joins grandpa Billy Bob for a drink because they have so much to talk about and how can she resist? What's a 40 year-old age difference? Hey, maybe Nathan will end up with the Billy's 17 year-old daughter. Why not? He's only got a year to wait before she can vote, and I'm guessing the age of consent in Texas is 12.

  • Guilty pleasure.

I love this series. Angela Bassett is in a class by herself here, but the other actors are so very good. I find myself teary how much I can relate to what some of them are going thru. A good amount of heart-pounding rescues, some with good outcomes, some not. The 'some not' are just gut-wrenching, both for the characters and the viewer.

I do wish they would follow-up on some of the stories, but I guess they figure the good news ending we all long for is unrealistic. Even so, I love how Buck wants to follow the victims/patients into the hospital to comfort them and be sure they are going to be OK. That's exactly how I would be. Lots of heartwarming interactions with the characters. You are going to love this. Binge worthy.

  • Absolutely fabulous

Just a wonderful movie, I wish so much they would make more like this. No make-up, no perfection, just two normal people like all of us, desperately seeking happiness, desperately seeking to belong. So heartbreaking at times, but so realistic. Each incur stinging humiliation in their quest to just belong somewhere, so deeply felt. Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson are just incredible here, as are the support cast, specifically, Kathy Baker and Eileen Atkins. The movie is about two people, who seemed to never fit into the dance of life. They find each other and now belong. So lovely. What acting! Watch til the very end....💕
