After the sad passing of Val Kilmer I sought out this movie as I'd not watched it in over 30 years.
Now looking back the 20 year old me I was too heavily influenced by the Wayne's World 2 parody scene to take this fantastic movie seriously Between Val Kilmer's mind blowing performance and the awesome story telling of Oliver Stone this film is such a classic The Stella cast adds depth and warmth to this time capsule masterpiece If you're reading this looking for a reason to watch The Doors I'd suggest you put aside a couple of hours to watch and enjoy You don't even have to like the bands music to appreciate this movie.

I've been a big fan of The Rookie having never really taken to an other of Nathan Fillions other shows
The first three seasons were pretty great then as so often happens with shows such as the Rookie the story lines start to become stretched, characters start to appear and disappear due to different circumstances but this show has remained an enjoyable watch up to a point when it started to bring in its most annoying trait
The "Documentary Style" episode
They have had one per season and as jarring as the first one was it now appears like ' Ozymandias from Breaking Bad' compared this episode S7E15 A Deadly Secret
Who ever is in charge of the storylines of this show please please STOP with this nonsense style
There must be so many other storylines you can write for cops on patrol in LA surely?
Apart from this episode being my least favourite of the entire run (so far) It just strikes me of laziness A quirky style that may read well on paper but sure as heck doesn't come across at all on screen other than annoying and with this episode a tad confusing with tenuous links to previous episodes I know the Rookie is slated for at least one more season but if this episode is the standard then please just pull the plug and try and find something new to entertain the audience.

I know this review comes over ten years sine Sons of Anarchy wrapped up but I do have my own personal reasons for not watching the show when it was first aired!
Ron Perlman , I can't stand his acting and I clearly remember when SoA was on air in 2010 getting rave reviews trying to watch the pilot episode and switching off after 10-15 minutes in More fool me , in late 2024 I was laid up ill and out of boredom started watching the show again and to my surprise it was as good if not better (excluding S3!) than the reviews say I'm not much one for all the symbolism of certain scenes and trying to compare a 21st century tv show with 15th century literature But what SoA does is straight forward exciting screen time that mixes sex , violence and family into a storyline you know the ending by the end of the first episode
No silly twists that seem to be the bane of modern streaming tv shows You could argue that a few seasons could have been more concise and if you've watched all of the seasons you'll probably understand my dislike of season 3 but that's the only reason I rate this at a 9 not a 10 like other modern tv masterpieces like the writers own "the Sheild" Maybe if we are lucky Abel Teller will be of an age he could hold a licence to ride a Harley and find his own "Opie" style best friend??
Mayans beware!
