  • Suspenseful and complex

The plot seems somewhat innocent at the start when a young couple moves into a suburban neighborhood cul-de-sac and all and befriends another young family. There is a side plot with a creepy voyeur neighbor that becomes interwoven in the main storyline of the lives and activities of the 2 main couples. The plot continues to become more complex and suspenseful throughout until the crescendo hits in the last episode. In the end, the main plot line is resolved but there are plenty of subplots that are left hanging perfectly for a season 2.

The acting is superb. The two main characters played by Sam Heughan and Elinor Tomlinson are supported perfectly by Jessica De Gouw and Alfred Enoch and all are totally believable in these roles. They show a full and complex range of emotions. The rest of the cast similarly plays their characters in a very convincing way.

The soundtrack is haunting, foreboding and plays like its own character. I was on the edge of my seat and invested throughout. It was totally binge worthy and exceeded my expectations.

  • Loved "Love at First Sight" at first sight

Loved this movie! Full disclosure, I love romcoms and those with sentimentality, excellent acting, creative story lines and well done, bonus points. And there are just not enough of them. Perfectly cast, especially the leads, Haley Lu Richardson and Ben Hardy, who were so charming, likable, attractive and who seemed like perfectly normal human beings...so refreshing. The chemistry between them was totally believable. The narrator, Jameela Jamil, did an excellent job as narrator. It was a creative and interesting way to advance the story. Loved the unconventional interwoven stories. Lots of lovely reviews but many of those with mediocre scores, not sure why they gave a quite good review but not a quite good score. Well done Love at First Sight!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  • Incredible Performances in an Emotion Filled Episode

The performances by everyone were so well acted, I was drawn into the emotional roller coaster as if I had a personal stake in what was happening and the characters were my family. Sam, Caitriona, Sophie, Roger and John have always been superb but their interaction reached such a deep level that I truly felt the emotional pain they were going through. I do not see actors playing a role, I only see the characters. The writing, production values and direction, together with the incredible acting, made the entire episode so memorable. There have been emotional episodes in the past, but none have touched me like this episode. Also, Alex as Allan Christie, up to this point has not had much content to deliver, but man, did he deliver an outstanding performance. There is so much other content in this episode to connect past episodes with events to come to keep us on the edge of our seats. Job well done by all. Absolutely loved it from beginning to end.
