I honestly don't know why I like this movie so much, but I watch it almost every year. It's quirky, odd, and endearing...and the bakery setting is delicious. Yay for cupcakes! I know some say the movie is not very "Christmas-y", but maybe that's one of the reasons I like it. It doesn't take itself too seriously.

I have never watched a movie that swings so much between cute and repulsive. I really don't know what to do with it. It earns stars from me in soundtrack, cinematography, and actor chemistry... and yes, I laughed too. ...but I just couldn't celebrate the self-serving debaucherous lifestyle and lack-of-point depicted here. Do people really live like that? I don't want to know. It was like watching people I really like in a train wreck of human frailty. I know I am being weighty with a movie intended to be light, but a little moral elevation here would have been more rewarding. To end on an up note: the 4 main actors were darn cute.
