I think this one is definitely aimed at younger kids but grown ups can find it enjoyable as well; I did. That said, it really is your typical Pixar movie, predictable story, conventional characters, high level of polished animation. But not everything they produce can be another Coco. It makes for a good family movie night.
I really liked this movie that came out of nowhere. Taron Egerton and especially Ana Sophia Heger are as fantastic as everyone is saying, they made me feel all the feels. But I disagree with viewers who found the plot to thin of the movie to simplistic. I think that is actually what makes it great, and really effective: a simple story centered around 2 great characters perfectly portrayed. Highly recommended.
(ok as a single childless guy who always wanted a daughter, I may be a bit biased but I think even objectively this is a great movie)

As a fan of comic books when I was a kid, I was always more of a Marvel fan than a DC fan. I found DC characters and universe in general to be way too campy for me, to the point of being cringy. Which is why I really liked the Zach Snyder Superman, which was darker and grittier (like Nolan's Batman); well, and also Henry Cavill just IS Superman. So I was ready to be disappointed in this and while it is as campy as I thought it would be from the trailer, a few elements made it more interesting and fun than I expected. And in true DC fashion, CGI is really not that great.
