  • Wonder Woman: Best DC Movie after the Batman Trilogy!

Just watched the first show and everybody started clapping when the credit started to roll in the end. That says a lot about a movie.

Many of us had doubt when Gal Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman, and she proved the worth. What an amazing cast! Hollywood is full of beautiful actresses, but Gal also has a great personality which resonates with her character very well. She is strong as well as funny. Chris Pine turned out to be the perfect sidekick and love interest of Diana. He has this old classic Hollywood look. I am hoping we will see more of Connie Nelson and Robin Wright's character in the next venture.

I don't want to go further into screenplay. It has its tiny flaws, but we have seen much worse in recent times. Many people might argue why the WWI? Well, the core of the movie is not the war, but the darkness inside us that causes the war. You can easily relate it to today's narrative.

I enjoyed the movie through and through. Finally a quality superhero movie from DC after Batman Trilogy. You go Gal!

  • As Karan said - this is a story about love, but not a love story

When I first saw the reviews - my first reaction was the movie must be awful, then I realized most of the people who have written the reviews did not watch the movie or did not understand the depth it had. Most of the people came to watch a romantic movie. Unfortunately, this is not a typical romantic movie to begin with. Many can claim it has too many components taken from other movies, and yes that was the point of the two lead characters - recreating old Bollywood movies. And if you know about love stories there are 18-20 angles that you can play with, and after 100 years of filmmaking those angles have already portrayed on the silver screen about zillion times. Yes, it is true Karan Johan has directed better movies than this. But comparing the story-line with Tamaasha or Rockstar is not so fair. Tamasa was a soul searching movie and rockstar was a soul destructing one. Where as ADHM solely focused on the main leads and their emotions. Two central character were very much present for each other. This story is not only about one-sided love. Both of them loved each other a awful lot, but their expectation from one another was different. For me, this film was refreshing because till the end the character stick to their emotions. They didn't change because people might want to watch a different ending. This film might not be talking about bigger issues, but after a while a film is talking about a valued relationship (not based on sex). And movie also portrayed physical attraction cannot be the base of a strong healthy relationship unlike many other popular films. Though people are talking about this is a movie about 'rich' people, but if you get past those material things and look closely what the characters are trying to say, you will find a lot of things common with yourself, you might want to value your friends more.

Performance wise, I really liked that the cast was small. There were no stupid distraction. Nothing new to say about Ranbir, but Anushka really surprised me. Fawad khan had a really small role, but effective one. I was really surprised to see SRK and Aishwariya sharing the same screen space after a decade. SRK is mesmerizing. He had five-six lines and he stole the show. Aishwariya Rai B. looked like heaven. I dunno why she looked so sultry in the promos, but she was so graceful in the movie. Thank you Karan Johar.

Really loved the music. If I had to change something, I would have edited a bit in the second half, and the ending shots during the song (Maybe used some other shots of Anushka, that is not shown before, from Ranbir's point of view) to make a stronger impact. I still cried though.

    That's my take on ADHM.
