dan-2199's rating
I hated this movie when it first came out. I recently saw a YouTube video about a possible sequel. The podcaster raved about how good the original was, so I thought I would give it another chance. My opinion hasn't changed!
I give 4 stars because of its technical wizardry. The quality of the visuals holds up very well today. The animation and live-action look seamless. It's a shame so much effort went into such a lame story. I give it a -1 as a piece of entertainment and a 10 for technical achievement. Thus, a 4-star rating overall.
Not the least of its problems is that Roger Rabbit is wholly unlikable and annoying. He makes Jar Jar Binks seem adorable. The idea of Jessica and Roger being married is just absurd.
It's cute that they have so many cartoon cameos, and they're fun to look for. Beyond that, it's a waste of time.

Overall, my wife and I like this show. But sometimes the episodes are poorly written with big plot holes or they're just plain silly. In this case, it's plot holes.
Radio signals can trigger bombs, so stay back. But then they call the person with the bomb - with a cell phone which uses radio signals.
Then we have the classic "which wire do I cut?" trope. Seriously?!? This is after another incident with another bomb made the course of action clear in this case.
At least some of the romantic angles were advanced in the story line.
This show is generally well produced. The acting is good and believable. One final observation - if you're going to use bodycam footage, can it at least be integral to the story telling rather than just randomly cutting them on and off?

I had the same feeling watching this movie that I had watching End Game:
"How to Cram a 90 Minute Movie into 2 and Half Hours!"
It's an enjoyable movie. Spider-Man is my favorite super hero. I always wanted a third Garfield Spider-Man movie. I love the idea of the story. However, the animated "Into the Spider-Verse" movie executed the idea much better.
This movie just bogs down and gets too slow in the middle. It takes too long to get to McGuire and Garfield. I can't help but feel like this was a wasted opportunity, especially after seeing how effectively "Into the Spider-Verse" handled the story.
All in all, I enjoyed it. But it could've been better.
