Most reviews do not give credit to the Christmas Sub Plot. The Christmas Eve Chapel Play will tickle your heart strings. I cry during it every year. A few other scenes tear me up too. Great fun. Quite validating for the non typical female role as MS. Dedman is quite the modern woman of this time period. The cast is simply marvelous and a tribute to their acting skills. Lee Marvin although in few scenes is a feast for the eyes in his role in the Christmas play. A fun, family film. A must see for Duke fans.
I really like this movie, then the one w. Sam Elliot, you have to love Fatal Beauty just to see Sam so handsome in that one, then there was Jumpin Jack Flash which I really like except for the cheesey ending. It's great until the last 5 minutes. I will add that this one, Burglar has a cameo by Michael Nesmith as the cab driver. I love that. All of the scenes w. John Goodman trying to catch her at her apartment are PRICELESS. People whom did not enjoy this film, probably have no reference points for uniquely dark quirkly comedies.
