  • Some things were not told 100 percent. but still a great bio.

There is much more to the story of how Betty Boop was created then as presented by the producers of that program. While I'm going to have a full review of the show, I just want to note a few things here.

    1. The impression was given that Max and Dave were the only creative forces at the studio. This is a gross disservice.

    2. Grim Natwick who created the first version of Betty was not credited at all.

The animators who took over and re-designed the character were never mentioned. Myron Waldman was interviewed, but the producers never identified Myron was having been the head animator on more Betty Boops than anyone else.

    3. The footage of the women who did the Boop voice was framed as though it was some sort of audition footage. It was not. It was taken from a Paramount newsreel celebrating the collapse of Helen Kane's lawsuit against the Fleischers for having used an imitation of her voice.

Mae Questel's name was mis-pronounced throughout the show.

    4. Max Fleischer invented many things, but he did not invent Cinecolor as stated in the production. Max, like other producers, used Cinecolor because Disney had an exclusive contract with the much superior Technicolor process.

    5. There was no effort to placing the Boop cartoons into their proper context in the history of the Fleischer studio...we don't hear about the features, Popeye or Superman or the end of the studio.

    6. There was no mention of Betty's highly successful cameo in Who Framed Roger Rabbit or the delightful special produced by Collosal Pictures.

The show made the audience believe that Betty, aside from licensing, has been a dead character since 1939.

  • Betty is hardly seen

Pudgy and the lost kitten starts off with betty boop and pudgy the dog the simularitys are that a little kitten called myron and his mother make a return and they previously were seen in the Betty Boop Cartoon feature Happy you and merry me.

Im not sure why the kitten is named myron, it might be a reference to myron waldman who worked with the fleischer studios on quite a few Cartoons including the Betty Boop series.

Kate wright seems to be doing the role of Betty Boop as said before mae Questel Quit when she refused to move with the fleischer studios and the voice you hear surly isn't Maes, besides it sounds nothing like mae questel. The biggest flaw is that Betty Boop is hardley seen she disappears most of the time, but she has some great quotes, the episode revolves around pudgy the dog and myron the cat like i stated it has a few simularitys to the other Betty Boop Cartoon from (1936) happy you and merry me.

This is a Great cartoon and if you love pudgy the dog i suggest you watch the cartoon, i give this a 6/10.

  • Really Great to watch

This Betty Boop feature was really great to watch it features Betty Boops young cousin Buzzy Boop, who gets up to all kinds of mischief. Betty Boop Seems really strict in this cartoon also not to mention Mae Questel isn't doing the role.

Kate wright was great for the role not sure how she was recalled but mae questel had refused to move with the fleischer studios from 1938 and it seems Bonnie poe & kate wright were called back to do a few roles in 1938 until Margie hines Continued the series from the Feature Sally swing (1938) Buzzy Boop has a deep bronx accent and she really wants to play with the boys but they wont let her. Buzzy really shows that a girl can do anything a guy can do. Buzzy also made another appearance in Buzzy Boop and the concert but according to a historian the cartoon is lost. altogether i give this cartoon a 8/10 its a really great cartoon but some parts don't make sense but thats the fleischer studios for you i must admit buzzy was a really interesting character its a shame nothing was made of her from king features/fleischer studios.
