Going through a list of Japanese horror films that I am watching I have come across several of which I've already seen but didn't realize. This is one of those films. First off we have a cast of cute high school girls especially Ai Shinozaki who played Kaho. She is a Japanese gravure idol who is extremely cute and has other good qualities if you know what I mean. So aside from the cast of cute girls we have a decent horror movie about a curse that kills people. The main character Eri (Natsumi Matsubara) starts this curse by putting cursed ashes in a teachers drink. What happens when people have these ashes is of course they are killed but the right arm is severed and missing. There are some creepy moments in this movie and it's a pretty decent film.
Before watching the film I assumed it would be scary with jump scenes and scary ghosts but it wasn't that. It was a very interesting story that really was a good idea for a film. Bilocation is when there are 2 of the same person in different places at the same time. One is the original human and the other is the fake one. They are developed through certain periods in someones life such as when someone has extreme anger or hatred towards something. This is a good psychological/horror film and something to watch if your into that type of film category.
Boy From Hell is a live action adaptation of the manga of the same name. Daio (the boy) dies from a car accident and his mother brings him back to life. When he rises from the grave he is a deformed child from hell and wrecks havoc in the neighborhood. This film is extremely low budget with bad acting and obvious fake scenery and gore. The idea is good and the manga was probably good as I have not read it but I'm probably thinking the manga was 100% better. This isn't a film necessary for a J-horror fan to watch as it pretty much sucked with all the terrible fake gore and everything.
