Now I remember how my interest in this series was rekindled, while watching episodes from Season 7. Sure it's an uneven point in the show's evolution. Still there are some watchable movies to see here. This entry almost moves into soap opera. It can even be considered melodrama. Still Corabeth's struggle with drinking works as drama. What comedy on display mainly comes from Elizabeth trying to drive. The third act redeems the whole thing. John gets a good episode. It's up to him to come up with a solution or at least get a turnaround started.
Harold Gould is a hobo in a vacant house. Mr. Wilson thinks the house is haunted, because Gould has him and Mr. Mitchell fooled. Gould was in 2 episodes of Carol Burnett. He wasn't a regular on the show. He's known for playing Rhoda's dad on Mary Tyler Moore Show and the spinoff Rhoda. Great to see Dennis and friends join in haunting.
Bentley's family and Frank Wilcox's get together for a night of socializing and entertainment. Highlight is a silent film by the teenage girls. Noreen Corvoran plays Charlie Chaplin in the skit. Also good for a laugh, when someone grabs a wrench and tries to fix the sink himself. Peter contributes a joke to close things out.
