The irony is the premise of this film is it is titled Rebirth but in the film the people are no longer interested in dinosaurs, they have become an annoyance in their daily life. Sadly as people in the film have lost interest in dinosaurs the people in the audience are also losing interest in Dinosaurs. The film really rehashes all the previous films but now without any of the magic that came especially with the early films. As the film starts out I'm sitting there wondering who will we be left with, which of the characters I would like to see being chewed up and no longer have to suffer watching. There's a few to choose from as the characters are all paper thin and dispensable, no one to get behind and root for, the mercenaries whose names I didn't remember as I walked out of the cinema or the family who decided to sail across the ocean very close to where dinosaurs are chilling out or the cliched corporate man (my mind instantly went back to Burke - similar comeuppance) .The family just about edged it and they were involved in probably the best set piece of the film with the T-Rex, the tension in that scene came close to the earliest films. The rest of the close dino' encounters are fairly tame, barely enough to raise a pulse. Not sure why but maybe it was down to the fact the dinosaurs looked like they had been transported through Seth Brundles device and came out disfigured not particularly menacing but more unpleasant . Overall kind of forgettable.
First season was enjoyable enough, action, drama and tension though we have the cliched family with children issues which is mostly annoying. Note to writers from TV shows - leave out the family drama, it's mostly crap. The characters were all good, they stayed on the side of interesting. I'm half way through the second season and the character Joe is just incredibly annoying, she has spent most of this season shouting at everyone who comes on the screen. Tiresome for sure, I'm at the point of binning it off, we have a poorer plot line and still have to sit through the annoying family. I'll be surprised if season 3 gets greenlit, Nicole will have to grease the money mens wheels big time to make it happen.
