Not a good film, highly derivative and only was created to push Vance's political career. I'm guessing the goal was to create another Bill Clinton character to run for the Presidency. There were so many tropes that last worked in the nineties that no one believes anymore. It wasn't an honest movie at all, IYKYK, but sadly, people are going to fall for it.
I don't know what to say. Just wasn't excited about this movie. I wouldn't have seen it unless I got the deals that I got, a free popcorn and $4 off the ticket. There was no wow factor. Just felt like someone handed Taylor Sheridan some money to write a Fantastic Four script in a week.
It was a pretty movie, well-made, great actors but the script was just a Point A to B movie. There was no danger. At any given point, you feel like everyone involved could just have walked away and nothing would have been impacted.
It felt like a story that could have been a 10-minute short on Disney Plus. Easily. There was no point making it into a movie.
Pedro Pascal is a great actor, but they need to stop casting him in everything. He needs to dial it back like Tom Cruise. When you see him in a movie, your mind immediately switches to the million other movies he's in. I watched four movies this week and he was in every one. New movies. Ridiculous. And he's doing TV shows. Let some other actors get jobs.
