The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) was established to foster a culture of innovation, creativity and intellectual property protection within the institution. Recognizing the growing importance of intellectual property in research, technology development and entrepreneurship, the IPR Cell serves as a dedicated platform for promoting awareness, facilitating knowledge dissemination and providing guidance in protecting intellectual assets.

The Cell actively supports students, faculty members and researchers in identifying innovative ideas, securing intellectual property rights and transforming research outcomes into valuable intellectual assets with societal and industrial impact.

To cultivate a vibrant innovation ecosystem at MITS by encouraging the creation, protection, management and commercialization of intellectual property for the benefit of society and sustainable technological advancement.

The MITS IPR Cell has partnered with Legasis Private Limited, a leading Intellectual Property consultancy firm, to provide comprehensive support for the institution's innovators.

Through this collaboration, the Cell offers:

  • Patentability assessment and prior-art search

  • Patent drafting and filing assistance

  • Copyright registration support

  • Trademark filing and protection

  • Intellectual property portfolio management

  • Professional guidance throughout the IP lifecycle
