What merging PNG files actually does
Merging takes several separate images and composites them onto one canvas, then exports that canvas as a single image file. Your files are decoded, drawn and re-encoded by your own browser using the Canvas API. There is no server round-trip, which is why the tool works offline and why nobody, including us, can see your images.
Transparency survives the merge
PNG alpha channels are preserved. Stack a logo over a transparent background and the empty pixels stay empty instead of turning white or black.
You control the geometry
Set the gap between images, the outer margin, alignment, and a global scale. The preview shows the exact output pixel size before you download.
The result stays sharp
Images are drawn at their native resolution. Scaling is opt-in, so a merge of three 2000-pixel-wide screenshots yields a 2000-pixel-wide stack, not a blurry 800-pixel preview.
