I've always liked hangings. No idea why, but it was true even before I started school, when I read a story about Nathan Hale, who was captured by the British and hanged as a spy during the American Revolution. Being hanged, without actually dying, sounded like fun. I have also daydreamed about being crucified, stretched on the rack, tied to a tree in the forest, buried in a tomb, sacrificed to the Aztec gods alongside a pretty girl, and so on. Some of my favorite images show a woman's nude body being stretched. Usually she's hanged by the neck, suspended by the wrists, or stretched on the rack, and she's clearly enjoying it. Best of all is when her feet are swinging just above the floor as she helplessly tries to find solid ground.
