Website Updates

I've got loads of ideas to implement for this website which I will do over time, at my own pace. If you've got any ideas for these pages, they're likely already in the works! It'll look so much better over time. In the meantime, here's what I've done so far:

• 2025-12-20 (H+2180): Added 9 more (and changed 2) 88x31 buttons and 23 more 150x20 blinkies to my Links page.


• 2025-12-11 (H+2171): Added 12 more 88x31 buttons to my Links page and removed two blinkies I found buttons for.


• 2025-12-01 (H+2161): Created a public archive of my mas.to toots after deleting my mas.to account, my first Mastodon account before moving to my self-hosted Mastodon server. A link to it has been added to my "Merch, Emojis and More" box in the sidebar on my homepage. Also, I added 6 more 88x31 buttons to my Links page.


• 2025-11-28 (H+2158): Added 5 more 88x31 buttons to my Links page, updated the CO₂ counters on the Links and Emojis pages to include how much CO₂ was emitted if all dropdown menus were opened and images were loaded, moved the "Merch, Emojis and More" box on this homepage to the sidebar, updated this homepage's CO₂ emissions due to the social media feed, and added links to the fediverse.info, IndieArt.Support, Secret Deal, and Trunk directories, which I've been added to years ago but only remembered to add here, to the "Web Directories" section of the homepage. This has helped reduce extra space at the bottom of the sidebar to make the homepage more compact and optimise space.


• 2025-11-24 (H+2154): Updated the Polyamorous Pride Emoji on my Emojis page to use the new version of the flag, and therefore also updated the Pride Flags Animated Emoji and every emoji pack they appear in, updating their links and file sizes. I also added two new 88x31 buttons to my Links page and fixed one button's display.


• 2025-11-18 (H+2148): Added a live social media feed of my posts to the homepage using Mastofeed. Also, I added 5 new 88x31 buttons (and updated one) and added 13 new 150x20 blinkies (and updated two) on my Links page.


• 2025-11-03 (H+2133): On my Links page, I updated, added, and removed some 88x31 buttons, as well as updated and fixed some links in some of them, replaced all YouTube links with Invidious links, and specified that the buttons and blinkies are listed in alphabetical order.


• 2025-10-28 (H+2127): MOULE WORLD is accepted into the Aetherweave Webring!


• 2025-10-27 (H+2126): The one-year anniversary of this website transforming from being just a redirect to my Linktree to how it is today! Today I have expanded the introduction to MOULE WORLD on my About page, added 14 new buttons and 27 new blinkies to my Links page, updated a button there, and found source links for three more blinkies. This website also joined Smooth Sailing Listings and the Outliers Webring, the link to The People Pledge has been added, and I've also applied for (and pending approval from) the Aetherweave webring, LIMINALRING, List-Me.com, misc-webring two, Moonshot Listings, the Netloop Webring, and The Forest, as well as added a disclaimer that other sites in these groups may containing mature content and that my listing in these groups does not necessarily imply endorsement of other members' sites.


• 2025-10-23 (H+2122): After working on it for a week behind the scenes, today I implemented my "CSS overhaul"; I added a sidebar (but only for this homepage) which shows my most recent release, along with moving the Halcyon Date, my music links, and memberships this site is a part of there. The Acknowledgement of Countries has been moved to the footer and is now present on all pages, along with how much CO₂ is released on said page. Each page's margins are now slightly narrower. Also, my About page now has what happened on each year in MOULE WORLD's development in separate boxes instead of one long box.


• 2025-10-16 (H+2115): Rewrote the random quotes script in the footer in PHP instead, and removed all JavaScript-executing iframes from my Links page, meaning this site is now entirely JavaScript-free! This meant changing the page extensions from .html to .php; all internal links and a 301 redirect have been set up so all .html links I've sent out in the past automatically redirect to .php. Also added header image preloading on pages I forgot to add them to. Also added CSS to my Links page page that embiggens everything in the 88x31 and 150x20 collections upon cursor hover. Finally, after scrolling through my Mastodon toots documenting my website updates, I retroactively added 26 updates (before H+2071) to this changelog, complete with links to the toots about them with screenshots so you can see how this website used to look!


• 2025-10-15 (H+2114): Added coding for scrollbars because this updates log is getting too long!


• 2025-10-14 (H+2113): Updated the site's background to include the newest character HUNNY BADJA, as well as Oskar without his antenna. This background has also replaced the old background on my Mastodon and Music pages, and can be bought in colour and high resolution on products on my Merch Shop. Also added 10 new blinkies to my Links page, coincidentally totalling 666 KB worth of blinkies.


• 2025-10-12 (H+2111): Got started on the MOULE WORLD Character Select Screen on the homepage, with hover animations, changing images upon hover, preloading them so there's no one-second blank space before the new image loads during cursor hover, and pop-up text showing what their names are upon hovering. Also, I reduced the number of colours of emojis displayed on the website to 16 to drastically reduce their file size, decrease page bloat, and increase load time – the downloadable packs on the Emojis page are still the original, uncompressed versions. I renamed this updates section "Site Updates" from "Latest Updates" and moved it below the My Music and Art section. Finally, I changed the copyright text at the bottom of every page to "© MOULE WORLD (January 1, 2020 - ∞). All rights reserved.".
  
  
• 2025-10-10 (H+2109): Added 50 more 88x31 buttons and 38 more 150x20 blinkies to my Links page.


• 2025-10-04 (H+2103): Added more buttons to the 88x31 button wall on my Links page.


• 2025-09-15 (H+2084): Added missing MOULEMOTES to the Emojis page and added a graphic of MOULE holding a box of links on the Links page.


• 2025-09-02 (H+2071): I added the Halcyon Date, the date system of MOULE WORLD. It's the number of days since January 1, 2020, when I began sharing my music and artworks online starting with my first track Halcyon. January 1, 2020 is "H" (pronounced "Halcyon") Day. Days after then are H+1, H+2 etc, and days before then are H-1, H-2 etc.


• 2025-08-11 (H+2049): Added 56 new 88x31 buttons and 39 new 150x20 blinkies to my Links page.


• 2025-06-XX (H+2007): Added some microformats2 tags to my homepage to make my own h-card.


• 2025-05-29 (H+1975): Updated my 88x31 button to better reflect the theme of my website, and made my own 150x20 blinkie for it as well in the same theme.


• 2025-05-26 (H+1972): Added 21 new 88x31 buttons and started a 150x20 blinkie collection with 92 blinkies on my Links page.


• 2025-04-01 (H+1917): With no April Fools' Day joke planned for this year, I changed my website's colour scheme from blue to red to support the Red Instead movement, and had it red for the entirety of April. I also added 26 new 88x31 buttons and 39 new 150x20 blinkies to my Links page.


• 2025-03-17 (H+1902): Added 50 new 88x31 buttons to my Links page.


• 2025-03-14 (H+1899): Updated my site's header buttons and updated page titles to use the extended Y2K style I made for the MOULE and MOULE WORLD logos (with subtle CSS animations).


• 2025-02-28 (H+1885): Created my Emojis page to host my custom emojis on instead after removing them from Google Drive.


• 2024-12-24 (H+1819): My website joined the Geekring webring and the Indieseek.xyz web directory, and my Faircamp site joined the Faircamp Webring.


• 2024-12-23 (H+1818): I launched my self-hosted Faircamp music site, music.moule.world.


• 2024-12-17 (H+1812): I begin this changelog by embedding my Mastodon toots about it in a "MOULE WORLD Updates" section on the homepage. Also, because of the over 1,000 bookmarks Links page, my website joined the BUKMARK.CLUB web directory, which I added next to the FediRing in my website's footer.


• 2024-12-16 (H+1811): Added 36 new 88x31 buttons to my Links page.


• 2024-12-15 (H+1810): Added links about Fediverse-related topics to the Technology and Web section of my Links page, and after getting really tired of adding links, just dumped the hundreds of my remaining links into the new Cybersecurity, IndieWeb and Mastery, Privacy and OpSec, and Technology Miscellaneous sub-categories, as well as the Music, and Miscellaneous Links categories as bare links without descriptions.


• 2024-12-13 (H+1808): Added 81 more 88x31 buttons to my Links page.


• 2024-12-03 (H+1798): Added links to the new Articles and Authors category as well as the ASMR, Fan Sounds and White Noise category on my Links page.


• 2024-12-01 (H+1796): Added links to the new Art, Autism and Neurodivergence, and Charts and Maps categories on my Links page, which had 651 links at that point, and 190 88x31 buttons.


• 2024-11-29 (H+1794): Added 130 links to my Links page, with new categories including Funny, Games (particularly Super Mario 64 and Wordle variants), Generators and Meme Makers, Indigenous Australia, and Tools and Converters. Also added some new links to the Mathematics and the Space and Astronomy categories.


• 2024-11-26 (H+1791): Added 54 technology-themed links to the new Technology and Web category on my Links page, with sub-categories about quantum computing, retrocomputing and old web, web accessibility, and web browsing, as well as added a Worldbuilding links category.


• 2024-11-25 (H+1790): Added 116 math-themed links to the new Mathematics category on my Links page, with sub-categories about prime numbers, googology, factoring, primality-proving, recreational mathematics, and miscellaneous math links.


• 2024-11-22 (H+1787): Added the Earth and Climate Change and the Space and Astronomy categories to my Links page. I also nearly halved the page size by compressing the 88x31 buttons on that page to be no larger than 20 KB each, preferably as compressed as possible. To further optimise page size, I added lazy loading to all the buttons so they load only if those browsing my website want to see them.


• 2024-11-21 (H+1786): Began adding the many links I've bookmarked over the years to my Links page, starting with links to libraries. I document my progress over the next few days in a Mastodon thread.


• 2024-10-31 (H+1765): I copied more links from my Linktree to an SVG icon grid I created in my Links page, and added links to Spotify playlists I used to maintain to its own Playlists page using the same grid layout. Also on that day, my website joined its first webring, the Fediring.


• 2024-10-27 (H+1761): After getting into the IndieWeb movement, I changed moule.world away from being a redirect page to my Linktree to its own website which you are on now. I started with its home page, and a music page containing links to everywhere my music can be streamed, the latter has since been deleted and all my music links were moved to the homepage.


• 2024-07-10 (H+1652): I made my first 88x31 button.


• 2023-12-03 (H+1432): I created a landing page for MOULE WORLD which displayed a random MOULE-WORLD-related quote before redirecting to my Linktree a few seconds later. I also used the site for Mastodon verification even though my Mastodon server is a subdomain of moule.world (I wanted to have a verified link as well).


• 2022-12-18 (H+1082): During my disgust at Twitter and wanting more personalisation over an increasingly developing world told through my music and artwork, which I called "the MOULE world" for lack of a better name, I officially registered moule.world on this day. The subdomain mastodon.moule.world was launched three days later, with plans to point the root domain moule.world to its own website at a later point.
