You don’t have to be a budding musician or aspiring record producer to want your own secluded little space where you can strum your guitar, bang your drum or spin records to your heart’s content – without any moaning about ‘that awful din’ from the rest of the family.

Southern Grooves is home to Grammy-winning producer/engineer/mixer Matt Ross-Spang. With roots in iconic regional studios, Ross-Spang brings unmatched knowledge and passion to this Memphis-based studio. Meticulously designed rooms serve acoustic and aesthetic purposes, maximizing the 3,000 square feet. Ross-Spang's personal touch ensures Southern Grooves feels timeless and alive.

880 moments were captured during yesterday's Melinda Gaborno recording session shoot here at Rendevous Recording Studio in the Manoa Valley area of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu. All photos were taken using available light.

Our main goal was to create a space which would encourage and inspire creativity for the creation of music, not just a place to capture it. With that as the fundamental template, together we created an exacting combination of performance control and spatial cohesion.
