Cards using ribbon

Today's WTI challenge - Let's heat it up. I chose to use hot colours for a birthday card - as I need quite a few for August, though it would work well for autumn too I suppose! Can't believe how many ribbon ends I have .... I put a strip of double sided tape across the card front and stuck the ribbons on it. After accumulating a huge number of small scraps of ribbon, I decided to use a bunch on some easy cards. I believe this idea first came to me from the Hero Arts catalog...it's a technique the folks at Hero Arts use frequently. I adore their catalog as it's full of fun ideas like this. I sorted the scraps by color, then used either a monochromatic scheme or mixed and matched. The sentiments on all five cards are from Hero Arts as well. This weeks's challenge with the Late Night Stamper's group is to CASE a card seen on Pinterest created by Brenda Keenan. The card I cased caught my eye because I thought it was such an interesting way to use scraps of designer paper and ribbon to create Birthday presents. A similar thing could be done for any occasion. Happy Wednesday! :) Last night was our hostess club get-together; with it being the end of the current Idea book, I wanted to do simple yet striking projects. And I think this one was a definite WOW. And YES, I completely stole the idea. I kept a panel as the focal point. Instead of layering the sentiment, I stamped it directly onto the front of the card and added colored dot. I kept the image vertical.
