Amy MacLeod on Instagram: "A simple glazing technique... I made 40 of these earlier in the week because they were big sellers at my recent market. They're fairly quick pieces to throw and I like to use them to test out new glaze combos. This is the technique I've taken up for glazing them without too much fuss (no wax-resist or clean up needed). I might also add extra layers, usually by repeating the upside down dipping step in other glazes. What's your favoured glazing technique? #pottersofinstagram #pottery #design #interiordesign #ceramics #hygge #potter #handmade #handmadepottery #töpfern #handgemacht #handthrown #handthrownpottery #stoneware #tablewear #cosy #smalljoys #slowlife #home #smallbusiness #claylife #wheelthrown #clay #giftideas #homedecor #satisfying #satisfyingvideo # Dip Glazing Pottery, Glazing Pottery, Pottery Cafe, Glaze Combos, Pottery Design, Glazing Techniques, Wax Resist, Hand Thrown Pottery, Glaze Ceramics

Shawna Pincus on Instagram: "Glaze time! Giving everything a coat of my white satin glaze before adding the prints.

I’m using my homemade #magnet tool to help me hold the mugs for dipping. I have a tutorial on how I made them a little ways back in my feed if you are curious what they are.

The white grate placed on some glaze jars gives me enough space to set the mug down and remove the magnet tool while the mug is still wet. 💦

I’m hoping to get a glaze kiln firing this weekend but also the pool is calling my name! It’s our last week to enjoy some swim time so we’ll see what happens🏊‍♀️☀️

Happy Friday!!

DJ Does Pottery on Instagram: "Bubble glazing 🫧

Bubble glazing is a technique that creates a textured, bubbly surface on pottery.

Materials Needed: Bisqued pottery piece, underglaze, soap, water, cup, straw

Step 1: make sure the piece is clean by wiping it down with a damp sponge to remove any dust or debris.

Step 2: mix underglaze, soap, and a bit of water into a uniform solution.

Step 3: blow bubbles into the solution using a straw, letting the bubbles overflow over the cup and onto the piece. Set it aside and let the bubble magic happen. The bubbles will pop on their own.

Step 4: Let the underglaze dry by a fan. When dry, dip in clear glaze.

This is how I glaze very big pottery bowls. They are too big to dip, I am too lazy for brushing and because of the current weather I can’t spray glaze outside. So I pour over the glazes and add decorations by brush
