Huey Pierce Long Jr. was a politician who served as the 40th governor of Louisiana and as United States Senator from 1932 till his assassination. On 8th September 1935, Huey Long traveled to the State Capitol to pass a bill that made Judge Benjamin Pavy lose the position he had held for 28 years. At 9:20 PM, Benjamin’s son-in-law, Carl Weiss approached Long and shot him with a handgun. He died at 4:10 AM on September 10th, 31 hours after the assassination.
