Kandou Patterns on Instagram: "Ok, time to explain my hack- sorry for driving you all crazy! It’s all about how to finish a recessed zipper without using a facing for recess. Scroll through these photos to see the following process-
1. One pocket piece is used to face the zipper recess, and then the zipper is sewn in position on top, on the wrong side.
2. To conceal the raw edge of the zipper- pick up the pocket lining piece and fold it over the lower edge of the zipper- finger press along where the zipper edge is.
3. Stitch along next to the crease- just in far enough from the folded edge so you’re stitching on the zipper- you’ll need to keep the SA of the recess seam out of the way as you stitch.
4. Place the lining back down and press the seam- the zipper edge is now hidden- Neat!
