Third Day: The final day of the Thimphu Tshechu includes the performance of more mask dances and religious rituals. The festival culminates with the unfurling of another Thongdrel in the late hours of the night. This Thongdrel is called “Neten Chudrug,” and it represents the 16 Arhats, who are revered Buddhist figures. The Thongdrel is displayed briefly, and it’s believed that merely viewing it can cleanse one’s sins.
