Polar Stratospheric Clouds ☁️🌈✨ ICELAND Experienced some of the most incredible polar stratospheric clouds I’ve ever seen in my life few days ago (also called nacreous clouds). The sun was rising so the orange glow blended with those unbelievable rainbow clouds. Polar stratospheric clouds are rare and only form in the Arctic polar region. Joy Max Jardín on Instagram: "☁️ 🌈☁️ “A portal to the next dimension,” “A magical sight!” In the last few weeks of the year, iridescent rainbow, “mother-of-pearl” clouds shimmered over the U.K., Norway, Iceland, and Finland. A #joymaxnaturechurch service far above.

These Nacreous clouds, form in very cold conditions over polar regions and within the stratosphere, around 12-19 miles (19-31km) high, far above our everyday clouds. They contain ice crystals which refract the light at sunrise and sunset into something truly wondrous and very rare to behold.
