Not just for Christmas (though that usually is the tradition) you can usually find Guatemalan style tamales on the weekends in Guatemala and in US cities with a large Guatemalan population. They freeze well, and can be re-heated in a pot of boiling water several months later, trust me, I know. Our annual trip to Guatemala, we usually get 200 of these for family gatherings. Cost in the US, $2.50, in Guatemala much less!
