For me, this was a really fun read. It's a cute oneshot about a brother (a shut-in fanartist) and sister (taking his place at events because he's a shut-in). The brother grows slowly throughout the book, though his antics are a little overbearing at times. I appreciate how he realises he can bribe his sister with food - I too, would be easily bribed like this.
The characters are fun and ridiculous, but not in a bad way. Watching the main duo interact with everyone, even minor characters like the delivery guy, was quite fun. I laughed a lot and found the story relatable in
...
parts. For people who just read a manga or watch an anime and then move on, this might not be the book for you. It's definitely more for those who keep coming back to our favourite show, buy the merch, go to the events and all that.
For a story called "BL Fans Love My Brother?!", there's surprisingly little BL? There's a bit (that's very suggestive) but I think it's more focussed on the relationships people have with media and other fans, and how some people are very, very, very awkward., yet their faves give them strength.
I'm sure some people will think I've rated this too highly. Story - 9, art and character - 8, enjoyment and overall - 10. For me, enjoyment is the most important thing. Sure, story and art and character are important, but if I'm bored, who cares? It's no masterpiece, but I loved it. This was a quirky fun book that I'd reread on days I'm feeling a bit low. It's lighthearted and comedic and I loved how the siblings cared for each other.
