Gosu completely blew me away.
What starts off as a martial arts comedy with a goofy, overweight protagonist quickly transforms into a gripping, intense, and emotional story full of brutal fights and deep character development. Gang Ryong’s journey from a laid-back jokester to a mature, battle-hardened warrior is handled so well, and the tone shift feels completely natural.
What really sets Gosu apart is the final arc – it’s rare for a manhwa to stick the landing like this. Everything comes together, the stakes are sky-high, and the emotional payoff is incredibly satisfying. Best of all: it actually has an ending that feels earned, not forced.

improves massively over time, the action is clean and impactful, and the story never forgets its roots, even as it gets darker. Gosu is an underrated gem that balances humor, heart, and hardcore martial arts like few others do.
Highly recommended.
