I admit, I didn't expect the ending.
Sister Witch is a manga that deals with several topics. First of all, the manga deals with traumatic amnesia through the protagonist, who cannot remember her sister's death. At the beginning of the manga, this topic is not addressed directly, but is simply implied through bits of information that seem incomprehensible at first, but which make perfect sense at the end of the story, when we understand what happened to her sister.
Next, the manga deals with grief, and more specifically, the acceptance of the death of a loved one. At the end of the manga, when the protagonist understands

what happened to her sister in her childhood, she is at peace with this memory, as is her mother.
Also, in the subtext, the manga evokes the difficulty for a parent to mourn a child, but also to explain the concept of death to their other child, with the scene where we see the mother abusing alcohol.
As for the artwork, there's nothing to complain about: Naoko Takeuchi's drawings are as beautiful as ever and fit the story well.
On the negative side, the manga is first of all much too short, so the story unfolds much to
o quickly for my taste, and I find that the concept of witchcraft is not emphasized enough.

J’avoue, je ne m’attendais pas à la fin.
Sister Witch est un manga qui parle de plusieurs sujets. Tout d’abord, le manga parle d’amnésie traumatique à travers la protagoniste, qui ne se rappelle pas la mort de sa sœur. Au début du manga, ce propos n’est pas évoqué directement, il est simplement sous-entendu, par des bribes d’infos qui paraissent incompréhensibles, mais qui prennent tout leur sens à la fin de l’histoire, lorsqu’on comprend ce qui est arrivé à sa sœur.
Ensuite, le manga évoque le deuil, et plus précisément l’acceptation de la mort de l’être aimé. À la fin du manga, lorsque la protagoniste comprend ce qui s’est passé dans son enfance avec sa sœur, elle est en paix avec ce souvenir, idem pour sa mère.
Aussi, en sous-texte, le manga évoque la difficulté pour un parent de faire le deuil d’un enfant, mais aussi d’expliquer à son autre enfant le concept de la mort, avec la scène où l’on voit la mère abuser de l’alcool.
Pour ce qui est du dessin, rien à redire : les dessins de Naoko Takeuchi sont toujours aussi magnifiques et collent bien à l’histoire.
Pour ce qui est des points négatifs, le manga est tout d’abord beaucoup trop court, donc l’histoire se déroule beaucoup trop vite à mon goût, et je trouve que le concept de sorcellerie n’est pas assez mis en avant.
