Thoughts on LWA after finishing it?

yeah that's fair. the art is indeed very good, was apart of why i first watched it.

Honestly far from the weirdest, especially as a light novel adaptation. There are some whacky titles out there, i just don't care enough to remember. Despite the weird title, it is a wholesome show though.

It's definitely a great continuation, but I only credit that to the manga that I obviously love.

In terms of discussing archetypes, I can't really provide examples at this moment. I've been watching anime for most of my life, I guess I just have gotten used to tropes and certain archetypes that I find repetitive. Although it's so smartly written, that I'm sure that there is much better stuff down the line. Convinced by the aggregate.

I don't think I see it on your list. Have you watched it before, or are you just planning to buy it because of the cover and then watch it later?

Haha I love how a restricted list is a cue for "they're hiding something". Yeah, no. I rate manga pretty harshly, but I don’t have the confidence to come off like a snob when people look through my mangalist

The MC is kinda edgy for my liking and I can see he'll remain like that. Just made a pause to mentally prepare seeing more of him

In my opinion, this kind of narrative works best as a novel, so you may be right in calling it a riveting mystery.

It was mainly out of boredom, I didn't particularly find Jinshi actively annoying or insufferable except for a few minor aspects, he was just extremely boring, bland & uninteresting character who lacked any kind of nuance in his personality.

And believe me, Gurren Lagann is way more than just spectacular visuals, though it's type of storytelling & over-the-top style might not be for everyone. I'd go into more details about the show if you really do plan to give it another chance.

To be totally honest, I didn't get invested into anything Apothecary Diaries had to offer. It's setting, the plot/events, the characters and their interactions totally lacked any kind of hook to get me invested in at all. I was literally astonished as for how many times I yawned watching each and every episode of the show, hard to remember the last
time when a show bored me to this extent, honestly it came close to the level of boredom that I felt while watching Aria & Serial Experiments Lain. The only reason I've rated it a 2 and not a 1 is because of the episode where Maomao gets smacked in her face by that guard & gets her leg injured whilst trying to save Jinshi, that episode was a little intriguing. I think you'd be sad to hear from me but I found Jinshi to be an astonishingly boring & bland character and he was a big reason for me disliking this show so much.

I am glad you like it as it is one of my favorite magical girl shows :D. It should get even more hype the further you get ^^

I'll give my detailed thoughts on the series tommorow, feeling too sleepy at the moment. Also yeah I'm gonna attempt Season 2, though at this point I highly doubt it'll serve any other purpose than lowering my mean score.
