Plum wine is often used here in local desserts, but I won't be able to handle it.. Yes it's very anime thing, ryoutsu found some 100 year old wine while digging for treasures and it was in a episode of Ranma too.
You mentioned without incidents and that's exactly why I don't go to anime con and manga exhibits and concerts.
I'm very anxious about being in a crowd full of strangers and I get stressed what if they are carrying virus or germs or something.
If I get pushed or something I'll shove them back. And here fist fights are common.
I like how everyone maintain rules and regulations and calmness in Japan.

For example the F1 race here is wild, people trying to break in without ticket in 2023 they ran on to the track where cars were going around at 300 km /hr.

The following weekend the race in Japan, it's so peaceful and crowd cheer and appreciate the drivers and not shout vulgar chants or neither do they fight security and break in without buying tickets or try to sneak in the pitlane.
So it's different culture, different mindset.
If every one maintain calmness and follow rules and prioritize safety then I will be able to handle it.
Also I can't handle loud people, people who talk in a really loud voice and make noise for no reason.
I'm always surprised to see how quiet public transports are in Japan.

thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed explanation, kihel-san. i totally get why you feel slayers is better left in peace instead of risking a disappointing reboot that might not do justice to the original. the series had such an impact and it would be hard to recapture that magic, especially with all the stuff you mentioned.

i also liked what you said about the pr staff genuinely liking conan. it’s nice to know it wasn’t just for show. kota hirano’s audio guide sounds like such a unique experience and that spoiler warning actually made me laugh.

the part about megumi hayashibara was super interesting. her role really shapes how the series is seen so replacing her would definitely change the essence of slayers.

overall i agree that a proper conclusion to the novels is way more important than another anime adaptation. sometimes it’s better to keep what we love as it is instead of risking it getting worse.

by the way what do you usually watch these days? this season feels kinda dry so i ended up rewatching some anime i’ve already seen.
adachirei Jun 14, 3:57 PM
that sounds so funny haha the roboko pr staff going to see conan, like even they couldn’t resist… and the hirano exhibit audio guide going off about gundam instead of the actual works?? only covering a bit?? that’s so chaotic but also kinda adds to the fun in a weird way. oh and btw since you’re a slayers fan, do you think it’ll ever get a reboot? and how would you feel if it did? excited or a little worried about how they’d handle it?
RainyEvenings Jun 13, 9:51 PM
I don't really get it.
To me they are all same.

Yes and it might surprise you that I didn't watch the live action.
But rowing is so difficult, one must have the stamina and endurance of a race horse..
The rip van winkle poster will fit well in my house.
My parents house have very high ceiling

some people actually did see both roboco and conan in theaters? that’s honestly kinda epic haha. it really was smart timing if they pulled that off.

also omg the kouta hirano expo sounds awesome! i didn’t know there was a guided part. if they release that as a drama cd i’d be down to listen too, especially if it’s got that commentary vibe.

and yesss i noticed that about b’z too. i was wondering why they skipped conan but them doing the lupin theme totally explains it.

The first picture of rip van winkle, I wish I had it on my walls.
I wish they would sale these kinds of stuff here but I don't like the posters that are available for sale.
They never look like movie theaters poster.
This morning it was still dark and I fell in a hole about 6ft deep. I didn't notice the ⚠️ and 🚧, I am so absent minded these days.
Good thing I am tall enough to crawl out of it and luckily I was wearing my workout gloves.
Bad things happen to me in the month of June.
Also my refrigerator looks like it needs to be replaced,
I use a simple one and not one of those Samsung smart fridges that you see on Korean dramas.

I don't know, if I was you I would watch both lupin and bleach.
May be you can drive to another prefecture and watch them?
Here one place is so far away from another.
I like small countries like Japan and European countries where one can drive or take a train to another city in 2 hours.
For example if I was in Japan, I would go and have breakfast in Tokyo and take the 2 and half hour shinkansen to Kyoto for lunch and then may be take the bus to Osaka for dinner.
Same in Europe one can have breakfast in London, lunch in Paris and dinner in Amsterdam.
Here it takes 2 days in the train to reach the nearest city. And 3 hours flight is too expensive.
Also driving is so boring through deserted highways across the outback.
You are so lucky that you can enjoy the rain without the loud thunder and lightning..

I saw a sports movie about rowing set in your prefecture, it was incredibly beautiful.

That explains why the graphics of my tshirts are pealing off.
But I don't know how to hand wash clothes.
My mother and my ex used to make my my clothes look brand new. But I'm not so good at it.
One of my hoodies got tangled and toned up in the machine as well.
And yes you're right, I like niche characters often villainous like rip van winkle.
I think anime waifu look good in business suits like Makima, Himeno, Amemiya senpai, rip van winkle,

I remember being disappointed with ZZ Gundam, because it didn't take characters like Yazan seriously and the juvenile antics of the heroes weren't challenged by the crew appropriately. Haman Karn being dumbstruck by some kid was also stupid. Judau having so much power was also dumb, and the double zeta Gundam itself was not as cool as an addition. They could have done away with it if you ask me. Still, there are some cool stuff in ZZ Gundam once you get past the beginning "comedy" arc.

I have only seen one episode of Gundam Unicorn, so I can't say anything about it. It's interesting to compare the design of characters and technology, Gundam is especially unique with how the design of things changes. The gruff Zeon men that had infiltrated the colony were as buff as United States navy SEALS, a significant contrast with how the other anime depict elite soldiers (commonly called "commandos"). My favourite thing about the episode, however was after the father of the main character died as the Gundam activated, with its activation message reading "kshatriya". Recognising the hero of the story as if he's of the warrior caste of the Bharat sub-continent.

Amuro’s voice had some trouble behind the scenes, but it remained the original voice actor.

He must be in his late 60s now, that's understandable.

I am a little annoyed that they ommited Rip van winkel in the Hellsing posters.. Lol
The Osaka woman has got great style if she is a Maki zenin fan.
It won't be raining here anytime soon, I think next time it might rain is 20th August.
I wonder if the Gundam actually moves.

In the rainy season specially in the countryside I would be more worried about my sneakers getting dirty.
I only buy the ones that I really love next time I'll buy one that I don't like so I don't have to worry about mud and dirt.
I am not so concern about the laundry, I've a dryer and if I hang them up under the ac they will be dry. I use too much fabric softener so they smell good.
MoesianThracian Jun 7, 9:34 PM
This is what the Gundam looked like outside the building.

This is very cool.

Gundam UC, watch the first OVA version until halfway through,
It's been left untouched.

I'm sorry, Kihel, but I don't think I understood you.

I'm watching Double Zeta Gundam and the latest one now, thinking about watching it someday.

Are you thinking of watching the latest Gundam show or are you watching it as you are watching ZZ Gundam?

Double Zeta Gundam - I can't say I enjoyed it the first time I watched it. Maybe I will re-watch it in the future and change my opinion of it.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
