Glittery, Sparkley Mermaid Mani!

I have been in the mood for some serious glitter lately, so I dug through my stash and came out with an old untried of mine, Sinful Colors Nail Junkie. I knew I needed something to layer it over, so after much indecisiveness, I came up with Zoya Zuza with an accent nail of Charla. I just have no words for how gorgeous and glittery this mani was in real life, picture it ten times more sparkley than in the photos and you'll be close!

I did two coats of Zuza and three of Charla, followed by two coats of Nail Junkie on all of my nails. I got pendants in the mail for more nail polish jewelry the day I did this mani and I promptly made myself a pendant to match my nails. I was even complimented on it by my cashier at Walgreen's! :)

Walt Disney World Series: Part 1

Hey everyone! I'm on Spring Break this week (yay!) which is nice but kind of sucks at the same time because last year at this time, I was spending Spring Break in Walt Disney World with my family! To pay homage to that trip and to hopefully make myself a little less sad that I'm not there now, I decided to do a few days of Disney nail art instead.

Today was inspired by the new Sinful Colors Cinderella polish. I wore this mani for 6 (SIX!) days and had only very minor tip-wear and one or two tiny chips. Needless to say, I was incredibly impressed with it, even after I need three coats for opacity.

I had this on for three days before I got the idea to do Cinderella-inspired stamping over it and then use it for my WDW art week. I stamped crowns on my thumb and ring nails and the full-nail shoe design on all the rest using Konad Special White polish. I will definitely be rocking this (for at least a few days) on my next trip to WDW! I loved it so much, but starting getting antsy for a change around the 4th day.

Here's one last photo of Cinderella by itself... I know this photo is a little flare-y and not totally sharp, but what are your opinions on this angle? I feel like it's a bit more flattering when my nails are at a longer length.

Sinful Colors Secret Admirer

When I was younger, my mom used to buy these awesome metallic water-slide decals around Halloween and let me wear them over black nail polish. It was literally my favorite part of Halloween. We haven't been able to find them for years now, which is sad because they were so cool; I'm sure they were made by Fantasy Makers and discontinued or something. Stamping is going to have to be the next best thing, I suppose!

I went through all my plates and picked out any that had Halloween-themed images on them and stamped away! The base is two coats of Sinful Colors Secret Admirer, which is an awesome black polish with tons of silvery shimmer that softens the harshness of the black. I used China Glaze Sci Fi for the stamping and I gave my spider a little black rhinestone accent. :)

Sinful Colors Open Seas

I keep surprising myself with these on-a-whim purchases... This is Sinful Colors Open Seas, which is apparently a pretty close match to OPI Mermaid's Tears. I got the mini-set of the Pirates of the Caribbean collection and passed on Mermaid's Tears because I didn't think I would like it. Long story short, I was in Rite Aid the other day and I came across a Sinful Colors display with polishes that looked strangely reminiscent of the OPI Pirates shades... so I picked up Open Seas to test it out.

Surprise... I love it! It's a beautiful color and the formula is great, two easy coats. Sea foam green is not a color that I thought I would ever like, so I'm very glad that I took the chance on this one.

Since this is also going to be my birthday mani (today, ah!), I thought I would spice it up a little bit with some Jesse's Girl Firefly. I have to admit, I bought Firefly simply because my boyfriend and I were really into the show Firefly at the time, but it turned out being another excellent purchase. It's got all these little iridescent flakes in it that look amazing over Open Seas. The second photo is a super close-up crop so you can see all that shimmery greatness. Click to enlarge and appreciate further! Enjoy!
