The Insane, Thrilling Power of Wearing Sunglasses Indoors

I looked so dumb that I transcended. Plus, the raunchiest bag charm, Marc Jacobs military jacket, and more.

Before we get into my sunglasses epiphany…some NEVERWORNS Notes

Bag brand Autostudio is releasing a hair keychain. The hirsute charm is perverse, indulgent, and disgusting. It’s like some Russian girl lobbed off 6 feet of her hair and now it’s tacked onto your Balenciaga City Bag, fluttering behind you. It wouldn’t be a mistake to think that the sleek but hairy tchotchke feels sexual: The designers modeled it after pulling someone’s ponytail during the act. Fun news also from the brand: designer Connor Stankard messaged me that a new bag is coming to market…stay tuned.

Denim brand Olga Basha by Celine Eriksen understands funny. Eriksen created the label after working at fabric-obsessed Danish brand Norse Projects. She also reminds me of a long-lost Haim sister. Her latest video, which she released on Instagram, is great. The short film is very downtown New York, focusing on three girls inhaling sandwiches, looking out the window, and spotting a hot dude that one of them is hooking up with. (Eriksen told me they had to eat the same Dimes sandwich like 10 times to get the shot right.) I don’t want to spoil it, but the scenes get amazingly gross. Of course, there are the magical, juicy Olga Basha jeans laced with hemp and California cotton that I see popping up all over Instagram. It’s worth a watch and reminds me of a girly New York scene that could have come from Crossing Delancey (1988) or Kissing Jessica Stein (2001).

On another note: Most brands would think it’s risky to put a full-length film like this on Instagram, especially when everyone is so obsessed and choked by algorithms and numbers. Granted, Eriksen is small and can take creative liberties, but this is more convincing to me than all the other social stuff out there.

A great Marc Jacobs jacket is available at Grotesque Archive! I can’t stop seeing these Marc military coats…I can’t stop seeing Marc…in general!
