Hundreds of cash-strapped players accept a strange invitation to compete in children's games. Inside, a tempting prize awaits - with deadly high stakes.
Yes... I liked season 2 more than you, but it wasn't as good as s1. I really dislike it when they split a season into two parts and call the first part a whole season.
True, that "attack in the night" decision made no sense.

Well I enjoyed it all. Big cliff hanger at the end, but I imagine we'll see a third season at some point.
Indeed! Just saw it come in for June 27th! They must have filmed S2 and S3 at the same time.
How weird! But I won't complain. :D
Not so weird, I see it more and more with anime, splitting seasons into half and making two or more parts out of it.
(Attack on Titan had it's "Final Season" split into 4 parts released over the course of 3 years)
I think they filmed both seasons back to back and half a year apart is the release plan....which I am no particular fan of, but what can you do :)
Season 1 was a solid 8/10, Season 2 is more like a 5/10 for me...
With my 2/10 I wait for Season 3...I know there is practically no chance left that he realizes it himself but I still wanna give him a chance.
I just expected more from Gi-Hun. He looked for them for 3 years...prepared teams, weapons and was determined to take the organization down.
After everything went sideways he tried to save as many people as possible...up until the point of the second game.
After that point he basically became a supporting character instead of the lead. Sure, you can focus a bit on the other characters, but they managed to do that in Season 1 without pushing Gi-Hun in the background.
Especially after the final vote...he knew that they were going to attack in the night but only told a few people instead of everyone on the X team. Wouldn't his plan worked just as much if more people survived?
And then we have the whole Player 001 thing...He even game himself the same surname ("Oh" is the surname, right?) as the old man. I mean how much more does Gi-Hun need??

Episode 4...well, it was ok.
Seriously, if Gi-Hun doesn't realize or at least suspects who Player 001 is by the next game, this Season is getting a 2/10 from me...I mean the Front Man makes it so easy for him...
I don't get it...so the guy in the black overall promised No-eul to help her get her kid from the North...and that was seven years ago?
So clearly he isn't able to deliver on that promise...why is she still doing it?
I can't imagine there is no way out for her - after all, the workers aren't "living" on that island.
And the money doesn't seem so good either, she is living in her car afterall. Yes, she pays the broker, but still, for killing dozens of people each year you expect a hefty paycheck, otherwise she would probably make more as a professional assassin.
That was my biggest question from Season 1, what the workers get out of it...so far not impressed.
The second game is ok...the music with the first group of players felt way off...in Seaon 1 there was no background music which made all of it more intense.

Watched the first three so far.
Ep1 wasn't the best but it sets up a few things.
Ep2 is good,
Ep3 is awesome.
Without spoilers, we get to see a bit more of the behind-the-scenes of the game.
So I've just seen the first three episodes as well and totally agree with the sentiment.
After episodes 1 and 2 I was concerned that they lost their magic, then saw episode three and it was awesome albeit the voting scene was a bit too slow

I've watched the whole season. I enjoyed it, but I felt the focus was much more on the MC (which is appropriate for the storyline) than on surviving the games. Ending the season with ep 7 infuriated me. Season 3 in 2025, I hear.

Sets up for season 3.

Can confirm the above.
Episode 3 was indeed awesome, it had but one flaw
Player 001...c'mon, too predictable... especially with that titel :)
I am surprised that Gi Hun didn't realize it himself, I expected him even too go looking for Player 001.
The perspective of one of the masked people was the only thing I found missing in Season 1. Very good that we get to see it here.
