"The Mandalorian" is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. The series follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
How can you say you "prefer the series" when the movie hasn't been made yet?
I can only speak for myself: TV shows have gotten so good that I frequently prefer a good one over a movie. Being able to explore certain aspects in detail is one thing that harder to do with a limited run time.

And this isn't new news, they've been saying the next installment will be a movie ever since the last season aired.
How could we know, you didn't tell us! (And nobody else did.)
Plans for a fourth season of The Mandalorian on Disney+ may have been derailed in favor of the movie
The news comes from actor Brendan Wayne, who plays the physical version of the titular character
The movie is expected to begin filming in June and is set for a 2026 release date

Crap. I prefer the series. You know they will screw the movie up somehow. I have little faith in Disney. They got too big. They are google now.

Hopefully the same production team will work on the movie and maybe they'll be able to do things they can't in the series. Let's have hope. A new hope maybe...

The Mandalorian is great.
Star Wars is dead.

Even in the original movies everyone 'had' the force, it was just a matter of degree. They say the force connects all living things, some are just strong enough in the force to wield it. When they made it quantifiable in the prequels with the midichlorians it opened up this can of worms.

What he said about the Force: Did he inject his clones with midichlorians or something?
Yes, I never got that either. I never thought the Force was something you can attain somehow, you either have it or you don't.

I've been calling him Moff Gus since s1. I thought it was funny that he was cloning himself as a 64 year old man. I guess it's important for him to be recognized since he's built up such great relations with the rest of the galaxy. Probably plans to use the force to shrink his prostate.
:D

3x8. Epic. Great season finale. Huge scale and more serialized than previous seasons; probably my favorite.

Play the villain long enough and it just starts to blend.
