Developer of Nextpad++ for Mac

Andrey Letov is a New York product leader and software engineer. Most of his career has been in financial risk: building risk management platforms at Moody's, Axiom and technology and operational risk and analytics platforms at Bank of New York. Earlier he built UX at the American Stock Exchange, developed treasury and securities systems at JPMorgan, helped with DNA sequencing pipelines at Mount Sinai, and taught Java at Polytechnic University.

Andrey started the Nextpad++ for Mac project in March 2026 to close a twenty-year gap: Mac users who loved Notepad++ on Windows had never had a native equivalent. The port is written in Objective-C++ on top of Scintilla and Cocoa (the "right way" instead of a Wine wrapper), and multi-agent AI development workflows are what make a one-person project at this scale practical. He also maintains the macOS plugin ecosystem and the plugin registry that powers Plugin Admin inside the app.

Plugin Upstream Authors

The macOS plugin catalog now ships twenty-three plugins, each built on upstream source by other authors. The Mac versions are compiled as native dylibs against the NppPluginInterfaceMac.h header, but the algorithms, features, and — in most cases — the bulk of the code come from these people.
