Three steps to a spelling-clean design

01

Upload your design

Export a flat image of your design from Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or any other tool. JPG, PNG, and WebP are all supported up to 10MB.

02

Instant text scan

The free online design proofreader reads every visible text element — headlines, taglines, body copy, button labels, fine print, packaging claims — across all languages detected in the image.

03

Get corrections

Each spelling mistake is shown with the exact wrong word, the correct replacement, and the full corrected sentence. Fix them in your design tool before publishing or going to print.

Why designers need a dedicated design proofreader

Spelling mistakes in designs are surprisingly common — and surprisingly easy to miss. When you spend hours perfecting layout, color, and typography, your eye stops reading the actual words. A spelling error in a packaging label, social media graphic, or product banner can reach thousands of people before anyone notices. This free online design proofreader exists specifically to catch those mistakes before they ship.

Unlike typing a document into Word or Google Docs, design files lock the text inside layers and artboards. You cannot run a traditional spell check on a Figma file or a finished PDF. This tool solves that by working directly on the exported image — it reads the visual text exactly as it appears in your design, checks it for spelling errors in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, and returns precise corrections block by block.

It is particularly valuable for packaging designers — a misspelled ingredient, an incorrect net weight label, or a typo in a product claim can be extremely costly in print. It is equally useful for social media designers, where a typo in a post caption or CTA goes public immediately, and for UI designers who need clean microcopy across every screen state before development begins.

Frequently asked questions

Is this free online design proofreader completely free?

The design spelling check is free with no account or paid tier. File size, image dimensions, provider availability and processing errors can affect a scan.

What design file types can I upload?

You can upload JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 10MB. Export a flat screenshot or rendered image of your design from Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or any other design tool and upload it here.

Which languages does this design proofreader support?

The AI prompt requests English, Hindi (Devanagari) and Punjabi (Gurmukhi) proofreading. An English Hunspell dictionary adds a second pass. No measured language-accuracy rate is published; review suggestions in every language.

Can it read text in packaging labels and printed designs?

Yes. The proofreader is especially useful for packaging design, product labels, brochures, and print layouts where spelling errors are costly and hard to spot at small sizes. Upload a high-resolution image for the best accuracy on small text.

Will it flag my brand name or product name as an error?

The prompt asks the model to avoid proper nouns, brand names and intentional creative spelling. It can still make mistakes, so review each proposed correction.

Does it work on social media graphics and Instagram posts?

Export your social graphic as an image and upload it. The tool attempts to read and check visible overlay text; it may miss small, stylized or low-contrast words.

How accurate is the spelling check for Hindi and Punjabi?

No verified accuracy percentage is available. Decorative fonts, low resolution, ambiguous spelling and context can affect Hindi/Punjabi results. Use a clear export and have a fluent reader review corrections.

What is the difference between this and a regular spell checker?

A regular spell checker works on text you type. This free online design proofreader works directly on your image — it reads the visual text in your design, identifies which language each block is in, and checks spelling across all of them in one scan. No copy-pasting required.

What happens to my uploaded design?

The server prepares a resized JPEG, uploads it to Cloudinary and sends it to OpenAI. The database stores the image URL, extracted text, corrections, counts, timestamp and hashed IP. There is no configured automatic deletion period. Anyone with the stored image URL can access it. Avoid confidential designs; contact us with the image/result details for privacy requests.

How it works, data handling & limitations
How it works
The server resizes/compresses your image, stores it on Cloudinary and sends it to OpenAI for visual text extraction and proofreading. A Hunspell dictionary adds an English spelling check to the extracted text.
Data & privacy
Cloudinary stores the processed image. Our database stores its URL, extracted text/corrections, error counts, timestamp and hashed IP. OpenAI receives the processed screenshot. No public recent-proofread gallery was found, but stored image URLs are accessible to anyone who has them. Avoid confidential designs.
How we evaluate/test it
Source review confirms the AI and English-dictionary passes. No published precision/recall measurements or verified Hindi/Punjabi accuracy benchmark was found.
Limitations
Small or decorative text may be missed or misread. AI and dictionary suggestions can flag intentional spellings or miss real errors. Hindi/Punjabi output requires human review; do not rely on this as final approval.
