New Challenge at Time Out!

Hi friends!
I'm here with a super quick post to show you my DT card for our new 'Spring' challenge at Time Out! Please head on over to our challenge blog for all the challenge details including prize information and fabulous inspiration from our GD and regular designers!

In my card I've used flower dies by Altenew -they came as a freebie with a crafting magazine already a couple of years ago! I still can't decide if the layout is a fail or not... I was sort of winging it lol. A bit dangerous to glue things down before you are absolutely sure what you want to do!!

Please head on over to the challenge blog and I hope to see you joining us!

Time Out Challenges Reminder!

Hi friends!

I'm here to remind you of our current challenge at Time Out where we have one of our Inspired by Words challenges for you:

You can be inspired by the whole phrase or just choose one word/some words for the inspiration of your project. Our phrase today was especially chosen as we are celebrating the 8th Birthday our wonderful sponsor Uniko. Congrats Uniko and thank you for all your support! Check out the celebrations going on there by visiting their blog hereThe words of this challenge are also celebrating the 'Random Act of Kindness Day' that was celebrated on 17th Feb.

In my card I've used one of my favorite flower stamps in my stash: Pure Florals: Peony by Uniko. I really love how this turned out! I've heat embossed the images with white powder and then sponged the base with pink and purple distress inks. I then used the exactly same inks to water color the images. The Verve Stamps sentiment is simply stamped. I think this might be one of my favorite cards I've ever made! Hope you like it too. Lots of more inspiration from our DT and super talented guest designer Sue in our blog!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

HI guys!
I'm here today with a quick post with my DT card for the fun new challenge at Inkspirational:

This was a very inspiring word prompt, I had several ideas from using my score board to create a rosette to making a more folded card design... But I opted for using a tiny envelope die I have! The die cuts the shape of the envelope and you fold it yourself and glue it together. Quite a fun, cute die! I used a SSS flower die (or parts of the die) to create a flower that pops up from the envelope. This die was gifted to me by my fabulous Time Out team mate Jill and I really love it! Thanks Jill!! The sentiment is by Verve Stamps (no longer in business) and the rectangle dies are W+9. Hope you like and thanks for popping by! Lots of more DT inspiration in our challenge blog HERE!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational

Our guest designer this time is Jen from The Other Fickle Pixie. Her blog is truly fun, do pay her a visit if you haven't already! As always our regular DT members have also made amazing samples for you. Don't miss any of the fun all challenge details, click HERE!

In my card I've used a flower stamp and die + frame/aperture die from Paper Smooches and sentiment stamp by Verve stamps. The frame/aperture die is quite fun -you can use just the frame as it is or re-attach the rectangle it cuts out. I used just the frame now to show the opening witch is my aperture for the challenge. :) The frame is cut from watercolor card I had "colored" with Brushos. The flowers are colored in with Copics. To be honest this is my third attempt with this card -my first one had blue card base, orange rectangle in the opening + white frame... This made my eyes hurt. :) I then moved into white card base, blue rectangle + orange frame... My eyes hurt a bit less... But then I ended up even removing the blue rectangle. I think this is colorful enough as it is now! :) Or should I have saved the blue rectangle... Hmmm... Hmmm.... Too late!

I hope to see you joining us! Happy crafting!

TIME OUT Challenge Reminder

Please click the photo larger for closer look of white + gold paint splatters and coloring/gel pen details!

Hello friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current TIME OUT Challenge, where we are inspired by words:

'Flowers and Friends make life a garden'

We are sponsored by STAMPlorations and had the great pleasure to play with STAMPlorations stamps once again -STAMPlorations owner and designer Shery is just so generous to us, thank you! I used a dogwood flower stamp, buy it HERE.

I stamped the dogwood flower multiple times and then colored it in with Copics. I masked all the flowers and inked the bg softly with grey ink. I then splattered some white and gold paint on it from very far away (I did this on my bathroom floor!) to make sure I get very small droplets. After removing the masks I added some white gel pen details + heat embossed the sentiment. Some clear sequins and this card was ready to go!

I'd like to join:
Addicted to CAS: Graduation (=new beginning)
(I hope I have enough white space!)

Stamp Ink Paper: Graduation (=new beginning)

Please head on over to TIME OUT blog to see more DT cards made with STAMPlorations products, I promise you you'll be inspired! Our guest designer this time is Michelle from I Card Everyone whose work I absolutely admire.

Thanks for popping by! Now it's your turn to take TIME OUT and craft!

Spring/ Easter Cards with Marina and Pia Post 3/4

I'd like to enter the bunny card above to:
AAA cards: Shiny Spring (my bow is winked up and super shiny!)
Stamping Sensations: Anything goes (my 3rd and therefore final entry!)

Hi friends!
Today is day 3 out of 4 days of Spring/ Easter cards with Marina and PiaPia sent the materials for today's cards and you can see the photo of the kit in the end of this post. I made very simple cards from her materials and pretty much "killed" the kit, not many leftovers... However tomorrow we are sharing cards with the leftovers mixing up materials from all the kits so do pop by then to see what I came up with!

The first card of this post might be my favorite from all the kit cards this time. I love the black and white with the pop pf yellow and the very CAS look pleases my eye too! I think a certain someone will end up finding this on his desk when Easter is here. :) Anyhoo, these cards are pretty simple and I believe you can guess how I made them -however if you have questions, just leave a comment!

Now head on over to Marina's and Pias for definite wow-factor. :)

I'd like to enter the flower panel card above to CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: Rainbows

Pastel Butterflies

Hi friends!
I'm popping in to share a card I made for a couple of challenges:

Less Is More: Three Pastel Colors

A Blog Named Hero: Anything Goes with Hero Arts

AAA Cards: Shiny Spring
(my butterflies are winked and all shiny!)

Stamping Sensasions: Anything Goes

I chose pale yellow, pale pink, and pale blue for my pastels. The colors unfortunately look quite bright in the photo due to unnatural light I had to use for photographing at 10.30 pm. :) I find pastels a bit hard to use but I do like them with grey and as grey is a neutral I'm hoping using it in addition to the pastels is allowed at LIM!

I used my Hero Arts butterflies and co-ordinating dies I LOVE LOVE LOVE. This die design is great for CAS cards! This time I used matching card stock behind the butterflies to bring out the pastel colors even more. The stamped sentiment is by Verve Stamps and the stencil I used is an oldie from my stash, maybe Panduro or something. Grey card for card base and each butterfly got their own little perl embellishment. Wink of Stella was added to the butterflies.

Thanks for popping by!

New Challenge at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
We have a new challenge for you at Inkspirational, a photo inspiration you see above. Do click the photo larger so you can see there's lots to be inspired by -you could choose a single item like I did (the key), just go with the color palette of the photo (did that too) or maybe that bunny inspires you to make an Easter card! All interpretations welcome! :)

Have a look what our DT has made for you HERE. I'm sure you'll get inspired!

As I already mentioned, I was inspired the key, the colors, and also the "messy feel" of the card -originally I had my die cut tag properly put together but then I thought about using the red inside card in an angle to mimic the "piled up look" in the photo. The sentiment is heat embossed with gold powder and comes from Verve Stamps. I was thinking this could be a new home-card!

I'd like to enter:
AAA Cards: Use die cuts (my second entry)

(used two!)

TIME OUT Challenges Reminder

Hi friends!
Our current challenge at TIME OUT is still running for about one week so plenty of time to play along! We are CASEing a wonderful card by Jenny (small photo above) and the DT is having some extra fun playing with Verve stamps! Play along and you could win a stamp set by Verve!

For my card I used Verve stamp set called New Beginnings. This set has not only cute flowers but several fabulous spring-themed sentiments -I've used them in many cards already and you'll be seeing me using them in many Easter cards in April... I can honestly say I LOVE this stamp set! Such pretty sentiments!

This is how I was inspired by Jenny's card:

-Houses changed into flowers but I'm mimicking the layout!
-Springtime feel
-Sponging of blue ink
-Using stitched border die and colored card base

I think it's fun I CASEd so many elements and still our cards look very different!

The flowers are colored in with Copics, winked, and I added some white gel pen too. This card is super simple! The red base card is dry embossed but the photo doesn't really show that -I was having such lighting issues yesterday when photographing cards... I'm so waiting for warmer daylight!

Thanks for popping by! Please head on over to our challenge blog to have a look what my DT friends have made. Our guest designer this time is a regular Time Out player and a fantastic, artistic CAS card maker: Izzy

Waiting for Spring

Click larger for closer look of details and shine!

Hi friends!
I'm here today sharing a quick CAS one layer with you. Well, quick and quick... This was one of those cards that started somewhere and ended in a result nothing close to the first version -even the stamps are different! My primary inspiration comes from this week's Less Is More: One Layer with the theme of leaves. I own several leaf-stamps but none of them quite spoke to me this weekend. The reason for me not liking my leaf stamps right now is probably how I've used them previously -almost exclusively for fall... And I was in no mood for a fall card! Finally I found a super duper old tree and leaves- themed stamp set by Gel a Tins, a stamp company no longer existing if I'm right. I think the stamps looked great paired with a spring-themed Verve sentiment stamp and voila, a card design (that felt currant!) was finally ready!

This is a very simple card with basic masking for the snow bank and just plain stamping for sentiment and images. I used 3 different green inks for leaves and also winked the leaves in the end for shine. You'll see the shine better if you click the photo larger.

Mainly Teal Spring Card

Hi friends!

Here's a card I made for a couple of challenges:

Less Is More: Mainly Teal

Seven Hills Crafts: March Challenge, Tic Tac Toe
(patterned paper, pastel shades, die cutting)

The Flower Challenge Anything Goes

I wanted to use a couple of shades of teal, not just one, and was happy to find some patterned paper that tied up my colors pretty nicely. I was surprised how lovely teal looks with white! I think I've never made a card in these colors. I've heat embossed, sponged and then die cut Altenew Hennah Elements flower stamps and combined them with Stamping Up die cut leaves. The heat embossed sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

I accidentally used the sketch from the previous Less Is More Challenge which I think I entered twice... Only the sentiment is slightly in a different place. I think the sketch got stuck in my head! But what can you say... It's a good layout! :)

Thanks for popping by!

Spring Card for Challenges

Hi friends!
I'm here with a spring-themed card for some challenges:

(Spring! The ultimate new beginning every year!)

colors

photo inspiration

Wish

(NBUS product & technique: pearl maker!)

This card was very hard to photograph but I hope you can have a feel of it from he photo anyway! It's already dark here in Finland so I've used unnatural light for the picture... And the heat embossed background sort of vanishes from sight where there's more shadow. Anyway.. The whole bg is heat embossed with white powder using a large, old bg stamp I have. Great for adding texture and interest for CAS I think! The sentiment stamp comes from Verve. The flower stamp is by Papertey Ink and one of my favorite stamps ever, I use it year after year. I like to shade with Copics but this flower is fun to color without shading, just using one marker for one area of the flower and then changing to a slightly different shade. This stamp is great for someone who wants to use markers but is maybe not so much into shading! I've also added interest with white gel pen + a super old pearl maker that I've had for years and NEVER used on a card. I was surprised it worked this well! I've got to start using this stuff! You can see the effect pretty well in the close-up. Hope you like! Thanks for popping by!

Chasing Mojo with Sweet Kobylkin!

Hi guys!
Ksenija is hosting a very fun challenge in her blog. Click HERE for all the details and inspiration, you'll love what you see!

The card I CASEd is made by Angela Tarasenko. You can view her card photo at Instagram HERE. I really hope you'll click the link and view the card: I wasn't able to copy the photo here.

I loved the way Angela's ombre card design was darker on top and faded to the bottom -something I never do, my ombre cards always fade to the top and are dark at the bottom! I also CASEd Angela's colors, her use of ribbon (mine is out of paper though, the bow die comes from Sugar Pea Designs) and sentiment placement: I almost never stamp the sentiment in the middle so creating this card was very refreshing for me! The swirls stencil is by STAMPlorations and the sentiment stamp comes from Verve. Cream and brown, maybe not the most "spring-like" color combo... But hey, who cares! I wanted to use this sentiment so I just went for it! :) I was very happy with how this card turned out and I was very inspired by this fun challenge.

The other challenges I'd like to enter:

Darnell's NBUS Challenge #8 (my NBUS-things are the stencil and the sentiment stamp)

Thanks for popping by and I hope to see you visiting Ksenija and getting inspired!
