Noah Qin

About Me

I am a software engineer and researcher targeting the Class of 2027. My passion lies in dissecting complex systems and rebuilding them with better efficiency and design.

It began in 2018 with a single line of Python. By 2021, I was integrating code with hardware, competing in the Beijing Robotics Competition with custom Arduino implementations. This engineering rigor carried into 2023 at the Jinpeng Sci-Tech Forum.

Recently, I've shifted focus to solving tangible problems. In 2024, I engineered a Python-based data analysis system to automate business intelligence for my family's business. In 2025, I expanded into mobile development, launching NightGuard on the App Store. I also actively engaged with the industry by attending the Vivo Developer Conference, while simultaneously working on experimental Computer Vision research.

In 2026, I expanded from building products to building communities. I co-founded Cobay, where I organize offline founder meetups and lead development of the website and community product. I also continued exploring the wider builder ecosystem through AWS Summit China and Cafe Cursor Beijing.

    Cafe Cursor Beijing
    Joined local developers for a day of building and exchanged perspectives on AI, current projects, and the changing development workflow.
    AWS Summit China
    Attended the Shanghai summit and explored production AI infrastructure, including Snowflake's multimodal customer-service data workflows.
    Co-Founded Cobay
    Started an AI builder community focused on local founder meetups. Leading offline event organization and the website and product engineering.
    EUSIPCO 2026 Result
    The data augmentation paper was not accepted. The review outcome became a checkpoint for improving the methodology and experimental validation.
    SSC 2026 Result
    CurveStudio was not selected for the Swift Student Challenge. Reflected on problem selection vs. execution — wrote about the experience.
    Freelance Development
    Started taking freelance development commissions. First experience having clients pay for my code — learned about communication and delivery.
    MoleUI
    Built a native macOS GUI for tw93/Mole (a system cleaning CLI tool) using SwiftUI. Contributing to open source.
    Vex — Version Manager
    Built a multi-language version manager for macOS in Rust. 19 releases in 6 weeks, supporting Node.js, Go, Java, Rust, and Python.
    EUSIPCO Submission
    Submitted paper 'Rethinking Data Augmentation for Small-Sample Learning' to EUSIPCO 2026. (Paper ID: 1089)
    USACO Platinum
    Advanced from Bronze to Platinum division in a single contest window during the January competition.
    NightGuard Launch
    Released independent iOS app to the App Store. Achieved 50+ downloads in the first month.
    Vivo Developer Conf
    Attended the Vivo Developer Conference to explore industry trends and network with mobile engineers.
    Rethinking Augmentation
    Initiated research on 'Rethinking Data Augmentation', laying the foundation for the EUSIPCO submission.
    Enterprise Data Solution
    Developed a Python crawler and data analysis system to automate business intelligence for my family's business.
