Greenwood Road Rejuvenation

This handsome 1940’s era modern house in the heart of Chapel Hill will be updated and transformed for our wonderful clients and their growing family.

Twin additions provide a gracious new primary bedroom suite, and a needed smaller bedroom with ensuite bath. A new deck maximizes use of the inviting outdoor space with Southern exposure.

Existing Floor Plan

The cramped kitchen and living spaces were disconnected from the under-used screened porch. Other issues to be addressed were an undersized primary bedroom, awkward dead spaces, and poor connection to the lovely secluded backyard. Can we find space for a true primary suite and an additional bedroom with ensuite bath?

Final Plan with Additions and Renovations

The all new kitchen is fully open to the dining and liivng areas, with a new wide sliding door connecting to the fully renovated previously under-used screened porch.
Two discrete additons: a primary suite with bonus room, and a guest room with ensuite bath.
New built-ins throughout provide beautiful and highly functional storage, custom tailored to the owner’s particular needs.

Opened up and bright! The previously enclosed kitchen is opened to the living room, creating a wide open heart of the house. We take down most of the South wall, connecting the previously under-used screen porch directly to the main living space with a large new sliding door.

A sleek new kitchen, bar, and dining area are perfect for entertaining indoors and out.

The screened porch becomes an extension of the main living areas for much of the year.
