Twisted Clay on Instagram: "These closed form lidded pots even include the handle to lift the lid away. Since, we will trim these differently than the previous form, it will come in handy when putting these to use. Its also very satisfying to not only close a form, but also create an attractive handle on the top all in one piece. I think one of the most satisfying things to do on the wheel is to close a form off entirely. There is something really fun about that." Sum Function on Instagram: "A full video of trimming a closed form lidded jar and adding texture. This one was a fun one - I think keeping the neck thick (where the flange will be) helped a lot compared previous lidded jars. #closedform #closedformliddedjar #liddedjar #jar #wheelthrown #wheelthrowing #ceramics #pottery #potter #artist #art #texture #video #fittinglid #functionalpottery #forfun #wip #play #process" Pottery On The Wheel, Closed Form Pottery, How To Throw A Lidded Jar, How To Make A Lid Pottery, Throwing Pottery Videos, Throwing Inspiration, Pottery Ideas Wheel Thrown, Pottery Lids, Ceramic Throwing

The Potters Shed • Pottery Classes in Adelaide on Instagram: "As requested, I wanted to show you the way I make closed forms.

It is a very effient technique to make pieces that need a lid.
This way you dont need to throw them in two parts, you can do it all in one.

One very important tip for thos type of shape is to leave some clay at the top to close your form, specially if you decide to make a round shape like that. You will need clay at the top to be able to close it and make the knob.

Its better to have a little bit more clay and take it off then to not have enough!

Happy potting everyone.
