Complementary colors painting

This image is part of my complementary colors exercise for my camera club. The purple BG was blotchy, so I used some PS filters--poster and texturizer. I wish the stems were longer.

Red and greed are opposite to each other in the colour wheel, therefore these are complementary colours.

I love painting the richness of complementary colours from life. I use a limited palette of primary colours and mix them to get a range of colours. I do not use browns or blacks in my paintings. 9. In this image the bright orange of the sky compliments the blue of the water and trees with the use of complimentary colors. The complimentary colors make the other colors stand out and are emphasized even more in the image.
