While 2 eggs provide SO much nutrition for you and baby, ideally most pregnant women require more protein per meal. Your protein requirements are higher in pregnancy, and even HIGHER in the second half. And I always recommend eating the WHOLE egg during pregnancy, the yolk is where the baby building nutrients are at 🍳

Proteins are the building blocks 🧱of cells, and if you think about it-  a new life (created from scratch!) is all made up of brand new cells. Not only that, you have a brand new organ (the placenta!)

Protein is also helpful in stabilizing your blood sugars which helps nausea and energy levels.

Here's what I ate for a healthy snack this morning as a Dietitian who's 20 weeks pregnant and wants to eat nourishing foods during her pregnancy🎀

A main focus for me has been finding ways to add in more fiber into my diet, especially after the first trimester. This recipe is always a go to for me, and it's almost like having dessert at 10am

Chia Seed Pudding Recipe:
➡️ 12 tbsp chia seeds
➡️ 1 cup nonfat plain greek yogurt
➡️ 3 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
➡️ 3 tbsp honey
➡️ Mixed in a handful of raspberries

I then served it with fresh blueberries and a little bit of lite pancake syrup on top... I licked the spoon clean it was delicious🤤
