Sometimes when I get an obsession is comes out of left field and hits hard. This is the case with my current love affair with antique quilts. I've always liked them, and have a couple of nice examples, but all of a sudden a few days ago I realized I really really want to collect them, in a big way. My mother-in-law's great great grandmother brought this over from Switzerland in 1900.

Antique Hand stitched, hand tied, Triangle Patchwork quilt from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Found as is in Iowa. Needs repair ( loose stitching) has not been launched. Has a few areas that are darker ( browning) and a few stains on the back. Overall for the age of the quilt it's in great condition. Please look at all photos before purchasing. All sales are final.

My Lincoln quilt is on the road to the quilters! The pattern came from Barbara Brackman and so did some of the fabric. Please read about the quilt on her blog here. You don't really see the beauty of this c. 1930 quilt until you capture it with a photo. I think it sparkles with the light and dark fabric. Feedsack like, not a feedsack expert. Not a four patch or nine patch. Just random two inch squares. It is a very utilitarian quilt. Don't think I have ever seen this straight line quilting before. Looks like maybe they used a yardstick and drew lines on the back. Needs a day at the spa. But otherwise in pretty good shape.
