Aron Wiesenfeld was born in 1972 in Washington, D.C. He began drawing very early encouraged by his family till one of his friends introduced him to comics in fifth grade. Beautifully-rendered and atmospheric, Aron Wiesenfeld’s latest body of paintings reminds us how adept the artist is at creating scenes of suspenseful distinction. With the precedent of following the artist’s work set in Hi-Fructose Vol.14, Vol. 22 and online, we were invited into his studio to gaze into Wiesenfeld’s progressively mysterious world. His latest suite of paintings, titled "Solstice" will be shown at Arcadia Contemporary in NYC from September 18 through October 3.

Neighbor by Aron Weienfeld

The central theme of my paintings is about finding a personal sense order in a confusing, chaotic, and meaningless world. The lead players of these paintings, naively, and in the moral clarity of youth, yearn for a state of perfection. In seeking for it, they come to the boundaries of mortality. Such an ideal state is not of this world, though it can be glimpsed by the mind, as if across a chasm.The paintings are made with oil paint, and the drawings are done in charcoal.
