This wheel thrown French butter keeper was made with speckled clay and partially covered with a layer of green glaze/light blue/white glaze, with the speckles peaking through. It is a two part piece, the first one being a flanged butter bowl that is meant to fit snugly in the water bowl; which is the second part.
