The Ceramic Studio on Instagram: "Potters, you have to try this! Here is a unique way to turn a bellied pot into a jug without the difficulty of trimming a jug form… After throwing a bellied vessel, wait for the pot to become leather hard and turn as usual to create a shape you are happy with. Next, trace a diagonal line starting from the rim and swooping around before coming up again at the rim leaving enough space to create a spout. Using a scalpel, or a very sharp potters knife, carefully cut along the line you traced to reveal the shape of the jug. Clean up and soften the edges with a damp sponge and then using a finger, carefully smooth out the shape of the spout. Finally, it’s up to you to add a handle and decorate the jug how you like!
