Actuality the wood itself is quite old being Peat Bog Yew, it is very likely that it is 5000 years old. This is a beautiful good sized handturned wood lamp base - just add a lampshade or a larger decorative lamp bulb to this good sized base and it will look great. It is in very good vintage condition, there are no damages, but some minor surface patina. There are some smaller knotholes naturally occurring in the wood, see images.
